All we are saying, is give peas a chance
I am yet to come to terms with the Danish obsession with eating raw peas. On street corners in Copenhagen and scattered around the festival site there are mobile pea sellers who will sell you a bag of peas in their pods for 20kr (about 1 pound 70p). Then you shell them and eat them and leave the shells on the floor for someone to trip over in an amusing manner. Strange...very strange.
Saw the Pixies last night....apparently Frank Black has slimmed down but I suspect that he was still tucking into the Fray Bentos after the show. Halfway through the second song his oversized trusers began to fall down, but fortunately for all concerned he caught them in time and avoided a major international incident. Last night I also saw a bit of dEUS side project Vive La Fete who were very cool, and then seminal post punk legends Wire who made me go half deaf and didn't even play any of their most famous songs, oh well, I can tick them off the list at least. Sadly I couldn't stay up until 2am to see the Argentinian Electro-Tango...oh well.
One of the most entertaining aspects of the festival is the badly translated programme....Here are a few quick highlights:
Mustasch have no intentions of mixing various elements just to make it clever. They play old school heavy metal that is heavy as a hangover and as hard as life itself...
...And Baby Woodhouse should be experienced live when they open their rocking floodgates...
Oh those cheeky Danes....
